Ever since he retired, Harry has done nothing but grumble, drink wheat beer and tend to his delphiniums. So says Lore. She clings to her job as a librarian, organises cringe-worthy readings and reveres her poets as if they were prophets. So says Harry. For an elderly married couple, the two of them talk an astonishing amount – yet they usually mean something else entirely.
